I support a back-to-basics curriculum with the goal of raising academic standards and helping our children achieve them.

I believe in financial budgeting, accountability, and transparency. We need to operate wisely with taxpayers’ funds, ensuring there is maximum return on the investment.

Teacher Advocate
Teachers’ voices are valuable and should be heard without fear of consequence. I want to protect their rights and pay, in order to improve teacher retention in our county.

Meeting with volunteers of Virginia's chapter of Concerned Women for America. We are thankful for their active support of our community and schools. They have been faithful in attending as well as speaking at our Bedford County School Board meetings.
Welcoming Congressman Morgan Griffith (VA 9th District) to Bedford County at the National Night out at Liberty Lake. We are blessed to have both Bob Good (VA 5th District) and Morgan serving our county.
The Daniel's Family has grown! Meet my wife Amber, and her daughters Kaiya and Kayla. All 4 of our kids are attending Bedford County Public Schools. I don't take my role as board member lightly as I know my decisions have a direct impact on my kids...now 4 of them!
I attended the Meet The Minutemen Football Jamboree. Liberty never disappoints as there was something for everyone. Attendees enjoyed face painting, food, games and many other activities. Personally, I was most excited for football and cannot wait for the season to start! Thank you to everyone who dedicated their time put on such a wonderful event. Special thanks to some of my friends showing support wearing their Vote Chris Daniels T-shirt! Keep your eyes open as I will be serving you at the concession stands again later this year! That was one of my favorite events! Students, enjoy your last weekend of summer!

As the proud sponsor of the Dirty Dozen Award at the TITAN TROPHY CEREMONY I want to extend my congratulations to all the players in each category. This event did not provide participation trophies, these players were among the finest athletes our area has to offer. Hard work and dedication placed them on the stage and they earned every bit of recognition they received tonight. Sports play a vital role in a students development. The physical, cognitive and emotional awareness that is required to be play at a higher level are beyond measure. The most impressive moments of the evening were meeting players around our area who conducted themselves with great respect and admiration for each other. They emulate the phrase iron sharpens iron. Some athletes love winning, others hate losing. Motivation comes in all forms. Regardless of the sport, activity or subject you are compelled to follow, give it your all and the results will speak for themselves. Sports teach you how to win, how to lose and shapes so many of our future leaders. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for these men. Our student athletes are a cut above.
I attended the August Bedford County GOP meeting. This night was particularly special as the GOP agreed to endorse a candidate for the November School Board election. After all the votes were counted, I was given the news that I won their endorsement! I truly appreciate everyone there tonight, including those that didn’t vote for me. I will do my best to be at my best for the county and represent you all. It was great to see a room without an open seat in the house. I was blown away by the generosity of those who contributed financially, committed to volunteer and those who voted. I will serve the county to the best of my ability.
While School Board positions are non-partisan, it is important that we meet and engage with all politicians, regardless of party affiliation. We do not have to agree on all the issues to work together to do what is best for our community. Ultimately, they are the legislators of our Commonwealth with an impact on our community. This morning, I had the pleasure to sit and talk with Congressman Griffith at the Bridge Street Cafe. Most importantly, as Bedford residents we should get involved on local issues at the School Board, Board of Supervisors and Town Council chambers. We as the collective leaders of Bedford County serve our community better when we engage in productive dialogue, communicate effectively and work together. I am thankful to have cultivated good relationships with the Board of Supervisors and look forward to attending more Town Council meetings to bridge gaps of our community. After every school board meeting, I stay to meet and engage with visitors. I am available to discuss the good, bad & great things happening at BCPS. Enjoyed attending the Proud Patriots of Smith Mountain Lake "Ride the Red Wave" event and meeting Congressmen Thomas Massie, Morgan Griffith, Bob Good, and Ben Cline. This November, please show up at the polls and vote! We need all hands on deck if we want to win back the conservative voice in 2022.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jefferson Forest high school was so much fun!! It’s always so exciting to see the community coming together to support our schools!
Thank you Melvin Adams for inviting me to ‘Our Children & Country Program’ hosted by Noah Webster Educational Foundation. You are such a great example living your vision statement of advocating to reclaim education principles and sound policy. Ironically as we approach Constitution Day this weekend and celebrate Promotion of Patriotism in Bedford County, Melvin referenced a quote from Noah Webster. "Every child in America should be acquainted with his own country. He should read books that furnish him with ideas that will be useful to him in life and practice. As soon as he opens his lips, he should rehearse the history of his own country." A fabulous event with outstanding speakers and attendees including: Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, Senator Steve Newman, Dr. Tom McCracken, Senator Bill Stanley, Senator Mark Peake, Franklin County School Board member Carletta E. Whiting, and Mary Katherine Bennett.
I enjoyed some great weather and great conversation while walking Bedford County. It was great to walk established neighborhoods and brand new ones as well. Regardless if you have been here for 100 years or 100 days let’s all work together to make the best of Bedford County. I had a great time at the little feet meet. Liberty high school did a great job of putting it on with so many great volunteers and such perfect weather. Truly a great day for kids to just be kids.
Thank you Americans for Prosperity for hosting A Rally For Education Opportunity & Parental Rights with Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears in Lynchburg. This non-partisan rally had a great lineup of organizations and representatives unpacking topics such as educational success accounts, parental rights in education, charter & labs schools. Lieutenant Governor Sears spoke about Frederick Douglas and the important role that education plays to pull us out of poverty. Lt Gov Sears is always inspiring and a constant source of encouragement.
I celebrated my birthday with my family and received photos of people voting for me. That was a great birthday surprise and I do not take it for granted. I was reminded of a quote later that night. "You can't control where you were born, the family you where born into, what you look like; you can't control any of those circumstances. The only thing you can control is how you react." (Credit Aisha Tyler) I have always taken pride in my last name and never wish to bring it shame. There will always be a small group of people that don't conduct themselves well and nothing you do can please them. This is particularly true during elections and we need to remind ourselves to rise above the noise. Be civil, be fair and remember we all have to live together as a community after November 8th. Lets treat each other the way we want to be treated, after all we have more in common than the issues that divide us. Also, I want to express my gratitude for those supporting me and voted on my birthday. I will strive to live up to your expectations, represent you well and deliver results for all of our children. While I cannot control where I was born, I chose Bedford as my home and I chose Bedford to be the hometown of my children.

Last night was the greatest moment of my Bedford County School Board tenure. We had a community need and the community responded. Special thanks for Randy Dutton and Legacy Education Center for stepping up big time! Your generosity won’t go unnoticed and it is greatly appreciated. Your group single handedly changed the trajectory offering a student future opportunities. For that I am grateful. Legacy Education Centers goal is to provide work study opportunities and to be a solution for a common problem impacting our youth. This action on behalf of the Legacy Education Center demonstrates the power of partnering to provide solutions for students in our community. Their actions align with fulfilling their mission of being empathetic and encouraging kids towards excellence in their chosen field. Again, thank you to Randy and Legacy for removing the financial barriers for this one student as you have done with so many other kids. Your kindness is worthy of recognition and I cannot wait to see the impact this will have on this young mans life. HVAC RIBBON CUTTING:Susie G. Gibson Science and Technology Center Cosmetology Program We have great things going on in Bedford County! Susie G Gibson is growing by student count and programs! Enrollment has basically doubled since last year. Attendance is up to 452 students in 16 different programs. I am thankful for the opportunity and invitation to be apart of this special day. I had the pleasure of watching Liberty High School (Bedford, Virginia) take on LCA. I was invited for a halftime interview from the box. The score was not representative of the effort the Minutemen gave in the field. It is always great to have cool air, sweatshirts and Friday night football.
